Merriam Webster dictionary defines Intention as – the
thing that you plan to do or achieve an aim or purpose.
So many of us
set intentions for the New Year in hopes that it will be a better year, to only
find that within a month or two ; it has fallen to the waist side, as a lost goal.
Well, intended goals need to be set in a real and achievable to your present
day life.
For example,
if you want to exercise more consider walking for 15 mins. per day, even if it
is around the block. Be honest will yourself and define the activity as
do-able, not another reason to not take yourself serious enough to want be
healthy.
If you want
to quit smoking, do not set a period, because you only focus on the time and
date. Consider smoking less, find an activity like walking, strengthening,
brush your teeth more, something that works for you. Take steps to be healthier
and not beat yourself up for it, because like any habit it takes time to
unlearn the behavior and reprogram the brain to do something else.
If you eat
too much sugar, candy, or caffeine, consider eating dry fruit, nuts, or a
healthy alternative. With intention, it is a life style change not a quick fix.
It would be wonderful life, if it were that easy. However, it takes hard work,
focus and the ability to say it’s, worth to me to see this through to the end.
Then you can set another goal to achieve for yourself.
Life is about
being the best you, not about falling down, but getting back up and saying, I
can do anything, if I set my mind to it. So set real goals and intentions, it
takes steps (even baby ones) to change habits that we been doing for far too
long.
It
is not about the road you took, it is how you ended up on the right path.
So have a Happy New Year and leave 2014 is
the past where it belongs, because you cannot fix it, you can only see the
lessons that you learned.
Happy New Year 2015
Smoking- if you are trying to quit smoking
than take steps to overcome the habit. Cut back slowly, fake smoking by pretend
to smoke or if it the smell that you like, than light the cigarette and put it
out and then you have the smell. If it a release to calm you when you are
stressed then take a walk or physical do something else. Practice mediation to
unstressed yourself. Figure what is really causing the craving, did parents
smoke, when did the habit start, was it social thing, what trigger the habit.
Loss Weight – Weight loss is life style change,
it takes time and planning. Is it a real goal or is a random thought because we
like to beat ourselves up for not being like everyone else. Well here is a new
flash you are not like everyone else, and will never be like everyone else, why
would you want too. So consider changing your diet, (not a fad diet) chose to
eat better foods, whole foods, cut back on the foods you know are not good for
you. Try new foods, eat on small plates, plan, do research, write a list of the
(good food choices that you like) exercise in any form. It does need to hurt;
to make you feel better. Set real goals for your life style, we all have a busy
life that does not mean we cannot make time for ourselves. We’re doing no good
to anyone if we not taking care for ourselves first, if we show that we care
about us first, you are teaching a valuable lesson in that your important and
that the ones that you love, should love themselves just as much and care about
them too.
Exercise – Consider exercising for a least 30
mins., even its once day or once week. It take at least 15 min to 20 mins. for
the body to function as whole, the means the body, brain and all the systems in
the body ( heart, blood, lungs, muscles, etc) and no I not stating a science data
here, if you want look it up yourself. Any Who! Exercise does not have to have
to so physical that you hate it. Low impact works just as well, unless you want
big muscles. I much rather be healthy in a less physical activity then jumping
into something my body not ready to handle which will cause injury instead of
getting me moving and motivated to keep doing it. So park in the back of
shopping lot, take the stairs, walk the dog, go for hike or chase the kids or
grand kids around at the park. Learn to ride a bike again. Just get out and
move, your body will love you more and you will have more energy to pursue
other things.
Happier- So you want to be more happy, well it
ok that we are not happy all the time, but when we are not living from place where, we have to think
about why were not happier, then something is a missed. Life is hard and
difficult and we have learned that it not ok to show emotions, that we are not
strong enough, too emotional, or any other label the people or ourselves have
come up with to not deal with our feelings. Most people do not even know why
they are emotional at any point, because we have lost touch with the “I am”
part of ourselves. Now I am no doctor by any means but if you cannot find one
reason to be happy, and then look into finding a professional to help you.
Happiness comes from within and shines out from you to others. So find
something in “you that makes you happy”.
Relationships/partner- you know relationship are like
mirrors we see what we like or what we do not. The things that we see are parts
of ourselves that we do not believe are in us. Normally we are involve with
someone that we admire for his or her qualities or believe that they have
qualities that are similar to our own beliefs. Some relationship work and other
just do not. Finding a true relationship/partner means getting down, dirty, and
bluntly honest with yourself; If you are not honest with yourself, how can be
honest in a relationship or with a partner.
Now
there is no science to finding the perfect person for anyone, because if
everyone was prefect there would be no need for us to be here, just saying. If
you want a relationship or partner figure, out whom you are and trust that when
he right person comes along you will know it, as well as know yourself. So the
next time you meet someone take a step
back, and really stop, listen to yourself, say is this the right person for me
or at least be open to fact that there is a lesson to be learned that you don’t
see in you.
Example: If you quiet person, just
maybe you do not want a loud person, unless you need to speak up for you own
needs.
If you are independent person, maybe you do not want
someone who is so depended on you to do everything for them.
Most of our
reality of relationships stem from our family, parent, or grandparents, we
mimic what we saw or rebel in the complete opposite way. We repeat the
patterns; we tend to say it is not the same when in fact that it is on some
level, if you look close enough you can find similar connection to your past to
present day relationship. If you came from a health family or not so healthy,
looking backwards will play a key role in all, if not all your relationships
currently.
Just as we
have free will to be, so do others, we cannot change, fix or be something were
not willing to do for ourselves. So good luck looking for your
partner/relationship, these are just my thoughts or observations that have
played out in my own life.
Make more Money – Now what is a money, it is paper
with ink on use as exchange for services brought and or sold, from paying the
rent, mortgage , purchasing food, clothing and transportation and just about
anything that provides some type of comfort to us. We pay taxes, insurances, we
put in the bank so the bank can use to extend credits to loans and invest in
other businesses, real estate, community, and everything else that it does with
it. I not in the banking industry, so I not sure what happens to my money, but
I do know this we spend X amount time working and worrying about money, in fact
we never have enough money at any given point. Who would not want more money, I
certainly would turn down money if it was offer to me, but at some point, we
have to wonder what the cost of freeing ourselves from this boundless need to
have more money. Money comes and goes, just look at the bills you pay for each
month. Some people live hand to foot each month, some more spend than they
make, some work excess hours to keep making more and more money.
When
you start worrying about money it kind like hey I want more but I do not
deserve it, because I have not work hard, longer hours, and spend every dime to
believe I have money, to turn around each day and do all over again. Here is
some simple rules to follow the next time your worry about money, do you have a
bed and home to sleep in? There are people living on the street. Do you food in
your house and in your stomach? There are children and people starving in the
world. Do you have a car to drive? Some people travel by bus, train or walk
more than 3 hours a day just to go to work one way. Just maybe, if look at the
way, you spend your money; you will find that you really have more than you
realize. So be thankful that you are one of the lucky one and be grateful that
you have your needs taking care of. Most people do not realize what they have
until it gone.
Moment of Clarity or
Ah Moment:
Above
are thoughts to what I like to consider complete clarity or Ah moments! We all
have them, but do we really pay attention to them! I have to honest in the fact
that I did not like school or even college , because it does not express who
we/you/I are, or what anyone is capable
of being. I found it extremely boring in the fact all we ever did was memorize
facts, facts are great but do they really connect to the whole picture to see,
reflect or see the pro and cons or even come up with a better thought or idea.
I
have gotten in trouble for questioning many people as to why this is that.
Maybe that why our education systems stinks then and now, because it’s easy to
just throw facts at us thinking we can’t really possible think. Did you know
that most the world best thinkers, inventors, and innovators were considered
crazy for their ideas? I think that I would much rather be considered the Innovator,
than walk through life with my eyes closed. Years ago, you were crazy if you
walked down the street talking to yourself, now we have Blue tooth.
The point is be who you were meant to be, break the rules
and molds of what is possible, it does
not mean break the law; but think outside the box. Just image what is possible
with the possibility.
Achieving the impossible
is realizing it is possible.
