10-31-18 Staying within the Colored lines

How many times have we heard this expression “color inside of the lines” in our life? Here is another one” stand in line and wait your turn” or some other form of following others because we are not doing it right. Standing in a line does teach certain lessons, yet was it meant to be taken in a literal sense?  Lines, rules or even laws that applied to the select few.

We have all heard at least one person tell us that it is not the way we do things. We are introduced to it from an early age. But, what if the lines were meant for us to color outside of them. Technology would never exist because we are all trying to do the same things as everyone else. So why do we keep trying to do the same thing and expecting a different result?

We do it because that is what we have been told to do, to be accepted by our family, friends, and society. You know a great artist or writer see the picture or the concept were others don’t. Business people see opportunity where others don’t see anything. It’s always a risk to do something different. We are not taught to challenge ourselves, of course, unless you begin to question your own potential for greatness. You are the only form of potential. There are a million of examples that I could give you, but what are your colored lines telling you that you keep staying within those lines.

Have you ever realized that you have more to offer then you realize! You are enough and will always be enough in the face of opportunity. Great people face the impossible because they believe that the risk is greater than the lines that they may cross. Each day you have the choice to be the person you want to be or to follow within those colored lines.

Instead, of listening to your mind of all the people who may tell you can’t or that it is impossible or any other self-doubting belief or behavior that may stop you. Begin to really hear your voice and if it’s not yours, it is most likely someone who did not want to be seen, as different. And they like being there because it’s comfortable, safe, and think everyone will always like them.

Truth be told, not everyone is going to like you. So, stop playing it safe and draw outside of the lines, even off the paper if you need too. You are the artist of your own life not what others have told you to be. Be colorful, be bright and draw that life that you want for yourself.
